Total personal post this week.
I apologize for the workouts going up late tonight. We decided as a family to go to Montreal this weekend to visit my wife's grandmother (Banoi) as her health has been failing. First off, this lady is 99 years old and has covid twice. She is a tough little lady, but time always wins. Her mood has been listless, her energy very low, not wanting to eat, and really just sleeping. On top of that, her memory has been failing her more as of late.
So we wanted to visit mostly for us to say our goodbyes. The other family members had been saying she doesn't even communicate or remember people. We brought our daughter with us and we weren't sure how it was going to go. She has only met her a couple of times, and doubt Lili even remembers her great-grandmother.
Well, my heart melted. My little girl walked right up to her and held her hand and talked with her. She was very empathetic. She colored with her, hugged her, sang with her, and asked her a million questions. Even though neither understood each other's language, you could see the emotional connection. It was the first time I had ever seen Banoi being so loving, and the rest of the family was amazed at how energetic and interactive she was being.
I am very proud of raising such a caring and sensitive child. It was great to see the impact it had made on mood on her. So much so that we decided to go visit her again on Monday.
No apologies needed
