Well, week one of the open is all done. But, there is still 2 more weeks. In 2014 I got 6 muscle-ups. I was very happy with that number. At the time I was 35, there was no masters division, and it was good enough for 501st place in that workout in Canada.
Fast forward almost 10 years. I managed 19 cleans. Not as good, but still better than I was expecting. During the pandemic years, I didn’t really do the open. Besides gyms being closed mostly, I was also recovering from 2 major surgeries. I also don’t or should I say, can’t do a lot of CrossFit movements anymore because of restrictions from my injuries.
So this shows that the Strongfit training I have been doing has definitely been maintaining my fitness and strength. I finished the workout feeling pretty good. I could get the cleans done if I did it again and paced some of the earlier reps. But I am only doing these open workouts once. I just do them to keep partaking in the worldwide CrossFit community and seeing how things are progressing. Knowing that I am way past my years of competing anymore and mostly train for the pure enjoyment of it.
Thursday there will be another workout released. I am excited to see what is coming. Some classic movements that are almost guaranteed to be in the next workouts are Thrusters, Burpees, Double Unders, and some form of pull-ups. If you are interested in seeing the statistical chance of various movements showing up in the next 2 weeks check this out.
