This weeks post is about family and community. It’s always nice to see people bring in their partners and friends to workout. In fact, many of our referrals are from this. Family and friends see the results and the fun that their family member is having and decide they want to try it as well.
When someone brings in their parent, it’s always inspirational. Showing it’s never too late to take control of your health, and the older you are, the more it will benefit you. We have had people start with bringing in their parent, at first training together. Then eventually the parent finds that there are other people their age putting in the work as well and develop bonds with like minded people their age.
What is even better is when a parent gets their kid involved. By being a good influence and inspiration the child can learn the benefits of exercise and a healthy lifestyle at a young age. Setting them up for better habits as they get older.
One of our members Maxwell, who recently celebrated his birthday, was mentioning to me that he was bringing his mom in to workout with him this past weekend as she was in town visiting. I thought that was a great moment of bonding to be able to workout together as a family. Celebrating fitness between ages. Turns out I know Max’s mom. She was a member at the first CrossFit gym I ever went to. I was training with her 13 years ago. Small world and it’s great to see that not only is she still into it, but the whole family is.
